Who we are and how we do things are as much a part of the challenge of
leadership as knowing the elements of good leadership. Therefore,
building an effective leadership strategy depends on how well the
principles of effective leadership are integrated into the leader’s
personal style.
The 90 minute presentation will focus on the observable behaviours of effective leaders, and provide participants with the opportunity to review a leadership process, assess their personal strengths, identify areas for improvement and develop leadership plans.
Discussion topics will include:
· Leadership Versus Management
· Characteristics of a Good Leader
· Key Leadership Practices
· Building Trust
· Building and Maintaining Morale
· Recognition and Rewards
The style of the presentation will be highly interactive and participative and the topics will be explored in a number of ways including small and large group exercises, activities and discussions.
About Allan Ebedes
Allan is the founder and CEO of Management Mentors International Inc. (MMI), a training and development company that is dedicated to helping people build better businesses, better organizations, and better lives.
Allan graduated with a B.Com degree, from Johannesburg, South Africa where he was born. Allan came to Canada in 1973 and earned an MBA degree from the University of Toronto, and also qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976.
However accounting did not fulfil Allan’s entrepreneurial spirit and in 1977 he became a partner in a medium sized furniture and appliance chain called Stuarts Furniture & Appliances. This was sold a few years later to The Brick.
In 1979 Allan started the Toronto School of Business. This grew to become the largest chain of private career colleges in Canada, with 50 locations coast-to-coast training more than 10,000 adult students a year for careers in accounting, business, computers, information technology, secretarial sciences, travel and tourism, hospitality, and health care. 10 Years later, in 1989, he took the company public on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
Over the past 25 years, Allan has managed the training of a quarter of a million adult students, and he has personally trained over 1000 adults. Training and motivating people is his passion
Allan is listed in Who’s Who in American Education and he is a member of the World Presidents’ Organization. Allan lives in Thornhill with his wife and 4 children.
